How It Works

See Fast Forward on sasktel.com.

Note:

When you buy a phone with Fast Forward and choose to finance the initial cost of the phone, the monthly financing charges will continue on your bill to the end of your 2-year contract. You won't have to pay out the financing balance when you upgrade your phone during the return period.

Participation Fee

You'll pay a $3 monthly fee as long as you're using a phone on Fast Forward. This fee will stop being charged on your bill if:

  • You upgrade your phone and don't choose Fast Forward again
  • or
  • You don't return the Fast Forward phone within the return period

Payback Amount

The payback amount is equal to the discount you received when you bought the phone on Fast Forward.

You can get your payback amount details from your wireless contract or by logging in to mySASKTEL (see mySASKTEL and eBILL support hub).

You'll have to pay your payback amount if:

  • You upgrade your phone before the return period.
  • You don't return a phone in good working condition during the return period
  • You change your wireless rate plan to a voice-only or data-only plan
  • You cancel your wireless service before or after the return period, or during the return period without returning a phone in good working condition

See Return period (below) and Upgrading my phone (below) for more details.

Return Period

The return period starts 12 months after you buy a Fast Forward phone and lasts for a certain amount of time (six months, for example). Different phones may have different return periods.

You can get your return period details from your wireless contract or by logging in to mySASKTEL (see mySASKTEL and eBILL support hub).

We'll send you text message reminders:

  • 15 days before your return period starts
  • On the first day of your return period
  • 90 days into your return period
  • 15 days before your return period ends

If you want to upgrade your device before the return period, you:

  • Will have to pay your early device upgrade fee (see Upgrading your wireless phone for more details)
  • Will have to pay the Fast Forward payback amount
  • Can keep the phone and not return it to SaskTel

If you don't want to return your phone during the return period, you:

  • Will have to pay the Fast Forward payback amount
    • Charged on your next bill after the return period ends
  • Can keep the phone as long as you want
  • Can upgrade your phone after the return period using any options available at the time (early device upgrade fee may apply)

NOTE:

If you're not happy with the phone you bought, our standard return policy and trial periods apply.

Upgrade My Phone

You must return a Fast Forward phone in good working condition to:

  • Avoid being charged the payback amount and
  • Upgrade to a new phone during the return period

You don't need to return the packaging or accessories. (We will take the accessories if you don't want them.)
When you take a Fast Forward phone to a SaskTel Store or Authorized Dealer to get a new one, they will decide if it meets our evaluation criteria (listed below).

If the Fast Forward Phone You Can
Meets our evaluation criteria Get A New Phone with or without Fast Forward pricing
Doesn't Meet our evaluation criteria
  • Pay the payback amount (and keep using the phone or buy a new one)
    or
  • Repair the phone so it meets our evaluation criteria (you'll have to repair and return the phone within the return period)

You can either

  • Pay for the repair
    or
  • Make a claim using AppleCare+ or Wireless Device Protection Plan (if added to your phone)
NOTE: A phone replaced under warranty must meet both replacement and evaluation criteria (listed below).

NOTE:

If you don't want to upgrade and choose to cancel your wireless service, you must return a phone in good working condition during your return period to avoid paying an early cancellation fee and your Fast Forward payback amount.
