Prairie Mobile Communications

Our Mobile Browser, Digital Data to Go and digital cellular services use CDMA technology, the first choice of wireless carriers in North America. CDMA divides the signals into small pieces to which an identifying code is attached. CDMA offers outstanding protection against eavesdropping because it features encoding as an integral part of its operation. It also increases network capacity by ten. Phone battery life is extended by two to three times on standby, but more importantly, during talk time as well. CDMA offers at least three benefits that other technologies do not:

  • Soft hand off - Multiple sites communicate with each other and plan the hand-off. The user never hears any muting because the first site doesn't release the call until another site has picked it up.
  • Multi-pathing - Multi-pathing the call over several sites allows the network to sample and combine voice to produce the best sound.
  • Hand off to AMPS - The hand-off from digital to analog (AMPS) is as seamless as the hand-off from digital to digital.
